After teaching first grade for 25 years, I began a new adventure as a Local Reading Specialist with the Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI). This will be my second full year as the reading coach at Hutchens, and my goal is to support and empower teachers as we strengthen literacy instruction and achievement with the Science of Reading. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Jeff, for 23 years, and we have 2 beautiful daughters, Hannah and Addison. I love to read, spend time with my family, and float in the pool.
